EMU Jones Natatorium suffered a devastating loss to their mechanical room due to the heavy rain and flooding at the end of June 2021.
After 22 months of waiting, we are thrilled to be back in the water training at EMU Jones Natatorium!!
We are incredibly thankful to EMU Athletics for investing in their diving program. Our dry-land facility has been completely renovated with state of the art equipment to assist our divers by reinforcing proper mechanics, techniques, and mechanics.
Dry-land training is our top priority in our philosophy to focus on our athletes fundamentals, mechanics, technique, body awareness and alignment, strength, and flexibility. These are all crucial components for success in the sport of diving.
Fun fact: Program Director Buck Smith visited the Olympic training center in China and was able to observe their divers and coaches training for 10 days. During his visit, the Chinese divers spent 75% of their time training on trampolines, dry-board, and mats. They were in the water for less than 25% of their training time.
