Buck Smith

Coach Smith has been the Eastern Michigan University Head Diving Coach for 9 years. Throughout the years, Buck’s divers have taken top 8 at the MAC Championships 65 times. Eastern Michigan divers have won 9 MAC Championships, set 2 MAC records, broke an 18 year-old pool record, and 3 school records. Buck also coached the 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2007 “MAC Diver of the Year”. Buck is a 5 time “MAC Diving Coach of the Year” award recipient. Buck has had 4 divers qualify for the NCAA Championships over the past 5 seasons. Buck earned his B.S. degree from Eastern Michigan University.
 

Kara Smith

Coach Smith brings with her over 19 years of diving experience and has coached for the past 13 years. As a former diver at the University of Pittsburgh, she was an NCAA Division I All American. She was the Head Diving Coach for the University at Buffalo from 1999 through 2004 and was named the MAC Conference Coach of the Year in 2002. Kara was the head coach of Wings Diving from 1998 through 2004. While coaching Wings and UB, she has had 16 JO National qualifiers, 4 JO National finalists, 1 National Champion, and 3 MAC Conference finalists. Kara has her B.S. in Health and Physical Education and her Master’s degree in teaching. Kara is the Aquatics/Fitness Director for Travis Pointe Country Club.
   

Robbin Ward

Robbin brings over 18 years of diving and coaching experience to Legacy Diving. Robbin was a high school All-State and All-American diver in 1991. Robbin received a scholarship to dive at Eastern Michigan University, where he was a member of the MAC Championship team all 4-years. Robbin was the assistant coach at Oakland University in 1998-99, and has been a strong part of the staff for the past seven years.
 

Kevin Ferguson

Kevin started his coaching career at Mason High School where he coached for three years and received the Lansing State Journal's Diving Coach of the Year Award. During this time, he also started a diving class at Howell Area Aquatic Center working with students from ages 5 to adult. In 1996, he began diving for Eastern Michigan University. After his senior year, he began coaching for Great Lakes Eagle Diving and Ann Arbor Country Club, as well as volunteering as an assistant coach for EMU. Kevin is currently teaching Math and Science at Millennium Middle School in South Lyon and is the Boy's and Girl's Varsity and Middle school Diving coach.
   

Summer Allman

Summer Allman is 29 years old and has been diving for 16 years. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2003 on a diving athletic scholarship. She is currently on the USA diving national team, training to compete in the 2012 Olympic games. Summer has been a participant in the 2004 and 2008 Olympic trials, she a two-time NCAA All American, a Big Ten 1-meter Champion and a Big 12 3-meter champion. Along with training Summer has been coaching diving for 6 years. She has had the opportunity to coach on several levels ranging from Learn to Dive, high school as well as the collegiate level coaching at the University of North Texas. When Summer is not diving, or coaching she is tending to her custom swimsuit business called, SummerSuits.
 

Dick Kimball

Jamie Vanepps

Jamie has 17 years of diving experience in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a high school All-American and three-time Pennsylvania State Champion. As a diver for the University of Pittsburgh she was an NCAA Division I All-American and received both the NCAA Female Athlete of the Year and Big East Female Athlete of the Year Post-Graduate Scholarships. She began coaching for the Pitt Aquatic Club in 1996 and has worked with divers ranging from beginners to NCAA Division I qualifiers. She has her Master of Social Work and Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and was employed as a Registered Nurse prior to relocating to Saline, MI.
 

Tom Papp

Tom has been diving for 31 years, and coaching at various southeast Michigan high schools for the past 29 years! He is currently coaching 3 Farmington schools where he has had a non-competitive diving club for over 20 years. He coached for the University at Buffalo diving camp, as well as the Legacy camp in the past.
