Well, another fun and successful year has passed for Legacy Diving.  This year we added two more high school state champions.  Alex Miller successfully defended her Division I title.  Just behind her in second and third place was Marcella Barretta and Cheyenne Cousineau. David Colturi won the always tough Ohio Division I title. Both David and Alex will be diving at Big Ten Schools for the 07-08 season. Alex will be at Michigan, and David at Purdue.  Marissa Ash will also be diving next year for Harvard University.  We are all very proud of the hard work of our now Legacy Alumni.  Good Luck Divers!

Our Junior season was also another great one.  We won our 6th straight Michigan Diving State Championship.  We also had both the divers of the meet, with Cameron Thatcher breaking 3 state records, while winning the boy's title, and Taylor Ford winning both the 1 & 3 meter boards to win the girl's title. We also won another Regional title, and then placed 3rd at East Nationals among over 60 teams. We added our 7th and 8th Junior National Champion, with Stephanie Schlei winning the 11 & U 1 meter title, and David Colturi winning the 16-18 1 meter title.  We also had two divers qualify for a International trip.  David Colturi and Taylor Ford went to England to represent The USA, where they both did extremely well. This summer We sent 5 divers to the AAU Nationals, where Cameron Thatcher took second on 1 meter in the boy's 9 year old event. Emily Stalmach had a great meet placing in the top half of both 1 & 3 meter events, while Taylor Ford finaled in both of her events.  Claire Bauer had a great meet also with two final appearances, placing 4th on 1 meter. Cheyenne Cousineau also placed second in the girl's 16 year old event, getting beat by just a few points by former Legacy Diver Thea Vock. (By the was Thea misses all of us very much).

Our Senior level divers did a great job this year as well. David Colturi finaled on 1 meter and 10 meter at Spring Senior Nationals, While Sarah Chrzanowski finaled on 1 and 3 meter, which earned her a trip to the World University Games in Bangkok. David and Sarah both made Summer Senior National. David won the Senior Zone Meet on 1 meter, and was 4th on 3 meter and 2nd on platform.  At the Senior National Meet David Had a great meet on 1 meter placing 6th in the nation. Sarah just missed making the cuts by 2 points.

The new season is almost here, so divers enjoy your brief time off, and be ready for another great season. Please let your friend know about our program, we have some big shoes to fill with our divers that are moving on to college.

I am very proud of all of you. I know it is hard work, but that is why we continue to do great things.

See you all in the fall,

Sincerely,

Buck
